You still can't do that with the menu bars, that's not what GTK widgets look like. And you can't have the Totem volume control hovering up there next to the menus. - Jan 14 2006

This obviously caters to those KDE-users who despise Gnome, so why is it posted here instead of kde-look? - Dec 17 2005

You know, I don't bear any hate for your religion, but you don't seem to realize how offensive your signature is. Walking up to folks and telling them that they're going to be tortured forever after they die isn't a good way to make friends... - Dec 08 2005

Are those translucent menus? How the heck do you do that with GTK?! Is that a Cairo trick? - Dec 06 2005

a) This is a wallpaper, not a GTK theme.

b) As the title says, this is a Gnome-oriented wallpaper, so it belongs on gnome-look, not kde-look. - Dec 02 2005

Well, that toolbar is definitely possible. You could probably make a gdesklets toolbar like that... Hefty, but possible. Or it could be a separate app - gnome-panel-ng or something.

On the other hand, I don't think it's possible to have the widgets lool like that, with the drop-down menus to the right of the buttons. And those drop-down menus don't appear to follow Gnome standards. - Nov 22 2005

This should be the default for Gnome 2.14.

(Interestingly, it looks rather like the direction in which XFCE appears to be headed.) - Nov 09 2005

It's beautiful. Reminds me of Leech, but I like it better... Especially because of the GTK1 theme.

(BTW, how the heck do I apply the GTK1 theme? I can write a .gtkrc manually or use gtk-theme-switch, but either way the theme just isn't applied!) - May 28 2005

The website hosting the tarball seems to have some problem with the file being hosted there. When I try to download it, I get a page with loaded with ads that claims that the allocated bandwidth has been exceeded and demands donations.

(Either this is a genuine problem with the host, or somebody has decided to conduct a phishing attack here...) - May 09 2005

Very nice theme, but I actually liked the "old" version better. The light-gray menu highlighting in the new one is nice, but the new color for highlighted text is almost invisible on a lot of webpages, particularly phpBB forums - you can't tell the difference between highlighted and unhighlighted text. - May 08 2005
