Hey thx for adding this feature! very cool. My only issue is the pop up asking for snooze/awake does not pop up. It stays minimised for me. I'd like it to pop up for me and have focus so I can bind alt s to my remote. Maybe it's a kde issue on my end not having something set up for it to get focus, I'll play around. Just wanted to let you know. I'm still on amarok 1.2.4, maybe this isn't an issue in 1.3 - Aug 31 2005

I thought maybe restarting kde would help but no such luck.

And looking over the changes I saw:

NEW: integrated player for audio and video

So, obviously I should be getting this. Anyone know what I might be missing?

And as i mentioned I don't get thumbnails for video nor audio previews in just plain konqueror. Can knoqueror do that on it's own? If so, what could I be missing to provide this functionality and would this metabar be dependant on that? - Jul 12 2005

I was running into similar make problems as others even though ./configure would finish without issue. I installed these two dev packages. Not sure which one fixed it, but one or both of them did.
kdebase-dev libkonq4-dev
Thats what they are called in a deb based system.

Great metabar, thx for your work. I actually thought of something very similar a long way back but don't have the skills at this.

Maybe someone can help with my two issues. Audio/video previews. I don't get the preview option with video at all. Now konqueror itself does not give me video preivews and not even sure it does, but some have told me they have that option. Anyone know what I could be missing?

Regarding audio previews. I get the preview action showing the play, pause, stop but they are not functional. I am not running arts so that's probably the issue, however I have all system sounds to use a cmd line player and have all system sounds through alsa without issue or hogging my sound card. Maybe a feature to set a custom player for audio previews? Or check if the user has indicated a player in System Notifciations --> Player Settings. - Jul 12 2005

First off this is awesome! Great work.

I'd like to tweak the defaults a little and I'm not sure if it's possible. I'd like it to not be case sensitive by default. And I wonder is there a way to specify certain directories only to search by default. For ex, I'd like to set it up for some users that it only searches their home and maybe a windows My Documents dir on a fat32 partition by default, without them having to specify the paths during the search.

Also, I'm just curious why + is used as a wild card instead of *.

Curious about this. Do this buttons have some highlight animation or does kbfx have this ability? I thought I read that somewhere. Also I guess these buttons are only for a thin panel, any for larger panels? - Jul 10 2005

Sorry again, just playing around with it. When displaying space free in MB. The bars showing amount used lose their colour since the numerical values take on the colour warnings I thought it might be a good option to turn off the bars altogether. A very minor thing, but it might look nicer to align the decimal place when reporting space free and align MB. As the largest value is going to set the length anyways they might as well be aligned. - Jul 09 2005

Great applet! Just what I was looking for. I'd only like to see two things. The ability to actually name the partitions is one. This is in the idea of saving space for ex. instead of /mnt/win_c I'd like to display winC. Also I'm also not showing space left to save space. It would be handy if on hover it showed space free. Or maybe allow the user to configure what is shown on hover. - Jul 09 2005

I've tried a few of the alarm plugins for xmms and beep media player and now came across yours.

What I'd love to have is a snooze feature.
For example, I have a rf remote hooked up to my computer that works in linux. I'd love to be able to push a key on the remote and have the alarm 'snooze' only to be started again in X amount of minutes.

So say a check box to enable snooze.
A key to activate snooze. Something like space or even user configurable would be great.
And then a box to set the amount of minutes when the alarm would come out of snooze mode and start to play again.

Maybe this is out of the scope of what you want to provide but I think it would be a great feature that's missing in all the other alarm plugins. I really need to learn to code to be able to do this myself :) - Jun 29 2005
