I think the toolbar size should be left to standard in order to look the same in all applications.
In epiphany the toolbar is small (24px?) but in evolution the toolbar is default size - I believe 32px.
Otherwise the theme is very nice and easy on the eyes. Thanks! - Feb 06 2009

Tell us: Which font are you using in the screenshot?
Check the Black Theme again. There are some texts that are same color or nearly same as background.
With epiphany browser and in evolution (search field) I can see a border around the URL when not focused which is not supposed to be there (black in dark theme, grey in light theme)
Oh and the disabled buttons have unreadable text in the dark version.
One more thing - just a suggestion - make the active buttons visible (for keyboard users) and also highlight the active input field better.
Some buttons are carved in and some are stamped out (see evolution - new button is carved others are stamped) or font dialog for example - is this by design?)
I would prefer stamped, also for dropdown boxes.
Still I like it very much! Thanks!
Voted good of course... - Dec 30 2008

Marking files of certain types with different colors is a great idea in my opinion! - Sep 25 2008

So here are 2 emerald themes

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Emerald+Aurora+Elegant?content=85454
Hope you like them.
Acutally I am not a friend of big window borders but strangly I prefer Emerald Aurora Elegant and use it currently.
In Ubuntu there is a compiz config settings manager which you can use to make emerald you default. Go to Window decoration and set Command to /usr/bin/emerald --replace - Jul 18 2008

I have done some googling on the metacity transparency of inactive windows but couldn't yet find anything.
As soon as I discover something I'll let you know. A workaround would be to use emerald und create an emerald theme. Don't have a clue right now how to build an emerald theme but I'll figure it out.
Will let you know when it's done.
However I would go with the inactive style for active windows and show no buttons at all on inactive windows.
On the metacity theme I would give the titlebar bottom border a few more pixels. although this means loosing some space it would make windows without a menubar look nicer. - Jul 16 2008

A few notes however:
In the menubar the clicked menu item is not highligted. i.e. clicking File the submenu is there but File is not highlighted.
The Panel height is more than I am used to. That's a little bit anoying.
And one general question regarding metacity theme and compiz: is it possible not to have the inactive windows transparent or make the menubar also transparent in the same way the window titlebar is? In my opinion every theme which simulated that the window title and menubar are one look weird when they are inactive (if compiz is on) - Jul 14 2008

just to let you know. firefox3 has the same problem. I'm using epiphany anyway, so no real issue for me.
i would say this is a bug in the ff3 and oo.org gtk gui wrapper, will search for a bugreport and open one if there isn't one, yet.
will try emerald, thanks! - Apr 09 2008

Just a few comments on it.
When using metacity resizing of windows is working fine with the bottom border, but after switching to desktop effects and compiz decorator you cannot resize horizontaly with the mouse.
Maybe it's just a ubuntu hardy issue.
the openoffice workaround works, but it would be nicer to have the dark menu in oo.org, too. Seems like oo.org is not reading the right color for the menu font, right? - Apr 07 2008

One thing i noticed: You have 2 Button layouts - with border like in the 3rd picture and without border. IMHO all buttons should look the same. I would be voting for the buttons with border ...
Can you do the window theme in metacity?
I'm really looking forward to this theme.
