Normally all menus with oxygen-gtk are drawn on my box without an underlying shadow. (plain)

In firefox, seamonkey, or libreoffice they have shadows. I believe it might be a incompatibility with compiz, or something to do with handling those"round" and "non round" menus. - Jun 15 2011
yes, it's from the debian repos.

Nevertheless, like firefox, libreoffice is drawn without the radial highlight. Also in both apps menus have shadows, while it should be plain.

I know firefox (thunderbird, seamonkey and libreoffice) not being a true gtk app is a nightmare to support, but plain pixmap themes like e.g. oxygen-molecule do look less out of place.

But I can live with that, just want to report, it's not only the lib linking issue. ;-) - Jun 15 2011
Not sure it's a bug in packaging libreoffice. Both using the same libstdc++ here:

>ldd /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice.bin |grep c++ => /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/

>ldd /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/ |grep c++ => /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/ - Jun 15 2011

Thnx for the reply.

Tried with XFWM4 instead of emerald - same result

I'll see to the failsafe startx and will downgrade, tomorrow. :-)

As I said,no probs with equinox engine,afict - Mar 02 2011
nice project. Keep up the effort :-)

Used the theme with xfce (no kde fonts/icons) for a while, but I seem to have trouble recovering without graphic distortions with this theme, so I went back to equinox.

After suspend/hibernate fonts seem to come up unreadable. Logging out/logging back in fixes the fonts

yeah, the theme is meant to be used with the trunk/alpha builts.

I am not sure if the gecko engine in sm 1 supports the moz-icon:// pseudo url.

If you are willing to test, you can try the following

If seamonkey 1 shows the up arrow from your systems theme, it's possible to make theme like this as well for sm 1 - Oct 29 2008
hmmh, it should install right by clicking on download.

Which version of Mozilla Seamonkey are you using? The theme will only work with the Version 2.0a1 and above.

e.g. I'm currently using...

Build identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1b2pre) Gecko/20081028 SeaMonkey/2.0a2pre

thanks for the reply. You are right. It is fairly easy to edit but what I meant, this theme is e.g. automatically on xfce-look.

People might expect from looking at the screenshots, that those gnome-color set themes are available for them ootb as well.(Some were with 1.0 btw;-))

Never mind. Good theme! - Mar 20 2010
> Why duplicate files when what is changing is only the color set

Well, because not everyone uses GNOME (XFCE in my case), and is able to change the colours unless by hacking gtkrcs.

Anyway, thanks a lot for your nice theme. I like it a lot. btw. if there's interest I made myself an emerald windeco based on Dust. - Mar 19 2010

well, said.

It is unfortunate you have been "ripped off".

But browsing through your artwork also gave me some headaches. One example would be Ubuntu's trademark policy about their Logo. There's some of your artwork e.g. violating the official color statement.
And as far I can see, you didn't specify the Creative-Commons-License either.
About the Apple logo I don't want even start to speculate.

Again, don't get me wrong. I see your point. I am an "oldfashioned" artist myself, but what I try to say is, it's not always easy to get things all right.

Keep up the good work

I wonder... GPL vs. CC-SA is a tricky ground. Some say it's problematic. CC-Sa is definitely not being considered as DFSG free.

As I said, I decided to be on the safe side and and used the default gnome iconset, which is afaik LGPL and uses tango style as well... and already payed by being voted down here on xfce-look because of the term GNOME I guess *sigh*.

Another idea is to use the "old" Gnome Stock items, which were more tango-like, green arrows, blue plus... -->

You could also ask the original author to relicense/dual license.

hope it helped,

- Sep 24 2008
... but check for the licensing it as GPL.

Afaik, the tango icons are released under the Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike license (one of the reasons, why I used the gnome iconset instead of tango as base for my seamonkey theme)

btw. GPL and CC_SA seems to be problematic anyway --> - Sep 24 2008

heh, good job, craigd! You were faster than me fixing it. (the GTK_APP_OPENOFFICE check thingie... :-)

GTK-1.x is still useful to have for xmms (yeah, I know about audacious-media-player) and such. So keep it up.

mld /uade team - Jun 15 2006
hi craig,

seems somewhere between 0.36 and 0.37 compilation of the gtk+1.x style broke for me.

debian, make 3.81ß4, gcc 4.0.2-8, kde 3.5.1, gtk-1.2.10

After manually diabling gtk+1 compilation, gtk2 and qt compiled and installed fine...

can anyone confirm?
