Reinstalling a failed plasmoid (referring to at least one weather plasmoid, but NOT YAWP) did nothing for me, and I tried reinstalling several times, in several installations of KDE 4.4.X (on different machines, and with reinstalls and fresh installs).

In my experiences, reinstalling a Plasmoid is not a guarantee of restored performance for some Plasmoids. - May 12 2011

YAWP works better than expected for me. Another Weather Plasmoid seems to lock up permanently after about 5 logins; YAWP continues to work and I see no problems. Interesting that nearly everything is clickable and this changes some element of the interface

Definitely a 'must have'. - Apr 07 2011

Kubuntu 10.04 LTS, KBluetooth is 0.4.

I have a Rocketfish universal Bluetooth adapter (RF-MRBTAD, Broadcom based), it connects with a lot of stuff when KBluetooth stays running.

For other reasons I have disabled KWallet (I cannot trust and will not and cannot rely upon anything but myself to store sensitive data such as passwords), and Nepomuk is totally UNWANTED on my system.

Sorry to see the wholesale dependence on these programs. Maybe my deconfiguration of these programs is why KBluetooth will crash on random user interactions? That said, keep in mind that I will not allow them back just to help KBluetooth - they really shouldn't be critical to an application reading and writing configuration files.

FWIW, the multiple file dialog is checked but usually KBluetooth will only allow single files to be transferred. Only ONCE has KBluetooth allowed me a multi file transfer. Nothing changed on the source device of the files, only KBluetooth changes because after it crashes some configuration data is missing. - Sep 12 2010

Midnight nitrogen/qtcurcve

QtCurve by III 2 comments

From the 'install' document contained within the file posted here:

"First make sure you have latest qtcurve and nitrogen style and kwin install.

Import colours and qtcurve set style and kwin to nitrogen set gtk apps to qtcurve.

Tested on karmic.

set nitrogen kwin and style using pics."

Are you saying that this .rar file I download only has some config files for a different theme?

Is this what the website visitor expected to download? - Dec 04 2009

I've been told that any distro will work on 64 bit, but since I'm Intel 64, maybe the answers already considered my platform.

Did you try passing any boot options? There might be some options, not that I know for sure, though. - Nov 09 2007

You know of geeks who actually make a hobby of VLSI design?

I used to hobby in PCB design, but VLSI??

Too 'brainiac' for me. - Nov 09 2007
