A lot of clever ideas here!

My only small complaint is with the headings of tables. I use nautilus in spatial mode and the headings seem a little too "bumpy" with respect to the rest.

Oh, and where can I find the ladybug wallpaper? - Mar 02 2010

Chromium picks the color for the frame from GTK's bgSELECTED and then darkens it. The result in Shiki is not so nice. Maybe it's better to override this, by adding "frame_color:#3C3C3C" to gtk_color_scheme (as explained here: - Aug 30 2009
There's just one thing I can think to improve this theme: dark toolbars!

You could support dark toolbars at least for a set of popular applications, like Rico does in the latest Dust theme. - Oct 08 2008

Amazing theme, thanks!

I have just a small suggestion. Now the icon that appears when a directory is opened in nautilus is a grey folder that looks just too flat and boring.

I propose the solution they adopted in the Mist icon theme, where the grey folder has a nice transparent gradient. - Dec 08 2008

I noticed your browser (epiphany I guess) with murrine widgets (google buttons for example). Where can we find them ? - May 07 2007

Are you sure you have version 0.2.1 ? The maximization problem should be fixed.
At least on my machine the titlebar outline in maximized mode is exactly as plain Human. - Mar 05 2007
Like Murrine this theme has no gradients, and it's particular hilight should mimic Murrine's buttons and scrollbars.

Like Human the titlebar of the unfocused window blends with the menubar. - Feb 25 2007

Now it perfectly works, thanks !
It's my kde icon theme, now !
What about a blue tango version, also ? The standard Tango release lacks too many icons.. - Sep 06 2006
I installed the theme by kcontrol and now, when I open kde applications I get a lot of "libpng error: Read error" and very few icons are showed (most of the others are left completely blank..)

Does someone have an hint ? - Sep 05 2006

It's not a bug, but rather a missing feature of mplayer.. When the skin uses window decoration (like ClearPlayer) the player becomes automatically resizable but if you resize it, the visualization is wrong..
There's no way to change it (until now) - Dec 04 2005

IMHO this style is a great step towards desktop integration.

The two big problems I see are:
- colors: they are still so different from the standard version of clearlooks.. The menubar, the background of menus, the button gradient..

- more spacing: the gnome style has big widgets ! It would be a real innovation to port big buttons and spaces to the kde world.

In the meantime, thank you, and if you need some manpower, let me know..

You're right, it's not a dialog, but for complete integration with the clearlooks metacity theme you should use either the big rounded style (ugly for a small window) or the small squared style, designed for "utility windows".
Of course, it's your choose.

For the colors I mean first of all the titlebar and the sliders. - Dec 01 2005
Finally a default gnome skin ! Good job.

I have a couple of suggestions:
- the titlebar should have squared edges as in clearlooks dialogs (and not rounded as in normal windows)
- the colors don't correspond with default clearlooks - Nov 30 2005

IMHO the Gnome community should work first of all on the accepted standards. Then it can concentrate on options and customizations (clearlooks big pack rocks !) - Oct 02 2005
It's really a very nice skin.
But I think it's really strange that nobody has made yet a skin for simply standard ClearLooks. Human is nice, and so is DeepBlue, but the standard color scheme has a bigger user base.. - Oct 01 2005
