TagLib

Audio Apps by wheeler 33 comments

It wasn't there before, I assure you (don't know about the tarball). I've been monitoring the RDF file and site pretty closely and when I posted that comment, the four or five top applications didn't have version numbers...

I guess someone fixed it. - Apr 05 2004
TagLib

Audio Apps by wheeler 33 comments

Okay, maybe this is off-topic but technically it does apply to TagLib -- why do so many applications on KDE-Look.org fail to include a version number?

I think it would be useful for KDE apps to have a version number, even if it's just 0.1... - Apr 04 2004

Does this do anything different from xeyes? Why does Super/Karamba need its own version? - May 08 2003

I don't think the contest is constrained to official logos. In fact, unfortunately, none of the current submissions use official logos. - Apr 16 2003

Sorry dude, I didn't have the faintest idea. root66 isn't really a name that rings a bell. I know who Sebastian is though. But hey, don't blame me. I have the advantage of not being a kde-www maintainer. :-)

You used to be on kde-www, right? This stuff about the logo has been in discussion for a long time on kde-www before the contest was made public... But anyhow, the original logo can now be entered in to the contest and will probably win since everyone likes it.

Btw, I thought the KDE site layout is almost exactly based on yours. I liked the first one better though. - Apr 16 2003
This is *exactly* why the feed is not on KDE.org. And yes, it has been suggested I remove the feed.

And being the maintainer, that certainly makes me the wise one, whether you like it or not. :-) - Apr 15 2003

1: Either author unknown, unresponsive or it might be that no source file exists anymore. Not too sure.

2: Somebody might have taken an existing PNG from somewhere and brushed it a bit with a bitmap program. Please don't accuse people like root66 for nothing.

3: No, since I'm really not involved with this other than posting the competition here and approving/editing the submission from Jason for the dot. However IIRC, many requests for the source of the logo have gone out to the list.

4: Drop the attitude please... Less attitude, more contest entries! Help make KDE better by contributing! - Apr 14 2003

> you didn't get the (xcf?) sources?

Yes, what part of that don't you understand? We need to use the same design for other subsites so we need the source.

> all these entries i've seen until now are worse

Why don't you submit something that's better then? - Apr 14 2003
Well, I quickly took the headline off the dot and freezed the kde-look newsfeed till this scrolls over.

It's not that I oppose free speech, it's just that a headline with something like "Iraqi Freedom" isn't really appropriate for dot.kde.org, and would probably cause me a flood of email...

Too bad really, it's just that people are really polarised on this issue. - Apr 14 2003
