Ooops, stupid typo.

Try replacing the affected line with this:

# back off a bit
- Nov 12 2010
I'm always open to suggestions!

Probably the next step should be an ebuild.

But before that it needs to be possible to be installed system-wide (right now I assume everything will be in $HOME) and I still need to figure out where to put stuff for that. - Nov 10 2010
Well I just found out that the install location for the autostart version is wrong.

It should be ~/.kde4/Autostart instead of ~/.kde4/share/autostart.

That should be fixed in the 1.5 version, coming Real Soon Now... - Nov 10 2010
Glad you like it and thanks for testing.

Here's 1.4 where you can configure to your hearts content! - Nov 06 2010
The problem with small packages is that genlop ONLY reports something when the ebuild ist actually compiling.

Dependency computation, configure, merge etc. and packages which don't compile anything are ignored.

I'll play around with it more, maybe I can find a better way.

Ant feedback is appreciated ;) - Nov 05 2010
Sorry, it's my first submission, I'm no all too familiar with the interface.

Removed the dead link, try the tarball. - Nov 05 2010
Try the new maybe you like the behaviour more.

You can set FREQUENCY to a higher value (in seconds) if you want less messages.

If you want just one message per compile you can remove -t ${FREQUENCY} from the inotifywait line.

I find having multiple messages for very long compiles useful because it tells me how long I have to wait - but tastes are different :) ...

Thanks for your feedback.

You do have a point.

I don't see however how running tail | grep is any less "running continuously" than a cron job is. At least the latter is automatic and tunable.

I will try to cook up an inotify-based solution which avoids the cron thing and only fires a notification wen stuff is really happening. - Nov 04 2010
Sure. Done! - Nov 04 2010

I found it:

need to add ${KDE4_KIO_LIBS} to target_link_libraries in CMakeLists.txt - Mar 18 2009
Hello, first of all thanks for making an app like this, I have been looking for exactly this for my netbook/gps/mapping/navigation system setup.

But I am getting compile errors with KDE4.2 and QT 4.4:

first cmake complains about find_package(Plasma):

FindPlasma.cmake is deprecated. Now with KDE 4.2 Plasma is part of kdelibs
and automatically found using find_package(KDE4) instead.

So I removed that find_package call from CMakeLists.txt and renamed PLASMA_LIBS to KDE4_PLASMA_LIBS. This makes cmake finish, but at the linking stage I get:
Linking CXX shared module lib/
CMakeFiles/plasma_applet_gps.dir/plasma-gps.o: In function `PlasmaGPS::init()':
/home/nephros/download/skins/plasma/plasma-gps-0.2/plasma-gps.cpp:55: undefined reference to `QTcpSocket::QTcpSocket(QObject*)'
/home/nephros/download/skins/plasma/plasma-gps-0.2/plasma-gps.cpp:62: undefined reference to `QAbstractSocket::abort()'
CMakeFiles/plasma_applet_gps.dir/plasma-gps.o: In function `PlasmaGPS::mousePressEvent(QGraphicsSceneMouseEvent*)':
/home/nephros/download/skins/plasma/plasma-gps-0.2/plasma-gps.cpp:155: undefined reference to `QAbstractSocket::abort()'
/home/nephros/download/skins/plasma/plasma-gps-0.2/plasma-gps.cpp:156: undefined reference to `QAbstractSocket::connectToHost(QString const&, unsigned short, QFlags<QIODevice::OpenModeFlag>)'
CMakeFiles/plasma_applet_gps.dir/plasma-gps.o: In function `~PlasmaGPS':
/home/nephros/download/skins/plasma/plasma-gps-0.2/plasma-gps.cpp:46: undefined reference to `QAbstractSocket::abort()'
/home/nephros/download/skins/plasma/plasma-gps-0.2/plasma-gps.cpp:46: undefined reference to `QAbstractSocket::abort()'
/home/nephros/download/skins/plasma/plasma-gps-0.2/plasma-gps.cpp:46: undefined reference to `QAbstractSocket::abort()'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

I am quite positive that I have libQtNetwork installed, but apparenly the build process fails to find it.

I would be very thankful if someone here could look into this.

I like this a lot!

However, how about you release a version with just the Glass thingies so we can put more and other background pictures behind it?

I like it generally, the BG gradient is beautiful and the "friends" are cute.

I don't like the beaks a lot though. O think they look like some kind of bar in front of their faces.
Maybe add a bit more perspective ti them, or perhaps another gradient? - Nov 04 2003

I must say that unfortunately I dont like the ngetoo icon set because frankly, 99% of them are just existing icons pasted between the gimp layers of the "marble" xcf file.

I know because I made some of the icons in question in exactly this manner, though I didn't take existing icons (most of the time), but instead used google image search and cropped&resized what I found.

For those who like the Gentoo icouns this is a very nice thing to have though.

No, this cannot be copyrighted.

[IANAL disclaimer]

According to, the movie was released in 1951, and IIRC American copyright law permits copright only for 14 years, plus an optional 14 years extra.
After that period, the work becomes public domain.
So in any case this should be un the public domain now.
AFAIK it cannot be GPLed for the same reason though. - Jun 04 2003

Just a suggestion for a "hourglass" cursor:

Instead of the current one, why not Tux somersaulting from left to right?

I think that would be very cute, and also, I don't like the hourglass metaphor that much. (The squeezin Tux is good, though) - Mar 24 2003
