One suggestion. Maybe making this themable would be a nice touch. I personally don't have any issues with how it looks. But, I do think giving a way to change the look would be a nice touch. If anything else, the ability to either change or add a background image would be cool. - Apr 04 2005

With the shortcut linking that metabar does you could just say assign system:/ as a shortcut and so on the save it all as a profile.
Of course there would have to be some modifications done to metabar. But I think it would be doable. - Mar 22 2005

In my opinion, if a design works and serves it's purpose it doesn't matter which platform tidbits are snagged from.
I wouldn't mind seeing something like this implemented. - Mar 22 2005

2. I had to comment line 280 in the make file from the kwin directory in order to for this to compile. It kept saying there is no rule to make changelog.
Well, going to go play around with this thing and see what it looks like ;) - Mar 08 2005

Also, one question: when it does it's check for the qt environment, what is it actually searching for? Some versions of qt included with some slack builds seem to be missing something when it's installed as a package. I'm using cvs builds of qt and that is working fine. But for packaging reasons, I would like to know what it's testing. - Mar 08 2005

>status bar flat?
It is the feature "Custom brush color" that other styles such as Comix uses". I think that's it. But if you look at comix and even lipstik you can see the status bar in something like konqueror is completely flat. I'll still send moc ups though. I already have them done.
Peace. - Feb 27 2005
Is there a way to remove the lines around places like combo boxes and tabs. Just like the buttons where you can make them almost blend with the color theme?
For example: for a bone white theme when you want things to be primarily flat.

2. Can the progress bar 'not' be striped as an option?
3. Is there some way of making the status bar flat?
As far as the styles, I have a lot of styles I authored over at crackedmonkey when I used bblean a year ago that Im working on converting. Still wish there was some way a style could use these style files... but... I authored those under the name of Nightbreed. I'll send you a some of them as soon as I generate enough.
You should make as many things user color definable as you can.. ;) lol - Feb 27 2005
Now the problem. I have compiled and it does launch with out any issues. However when it's time to actually launch the program being typed, it crashes with a seg fault.
During program start up I get this:
QDir::currentDirPath: getcwd() failed
the program still runs but after typing what I wish to run, it bugs out with:
kio (KSycoca): Trying to open ksycoca from /var/tmp/kdecache-root/ksycoca
kio (KTrader): query for Katapult/Catalog : returning 2 offers
kio (KTrader): query for Katapult/Display : returning 1 offers
Segmentation fault
