when using query type "Favourite Tracks/Albums/Artists/Genres" I can reproducible crash Amarok 2.2 as well as 2.3:

It seems as if the script tries to paint something, but with a width of 0.

Ahem...v0.5 looks completely broken here. Even while Amarok 2.2.2 is playing a track it still says "isPlaying: false" :-(.

Wow, you're fast!

Thanks, Script is working fine again!

BTW: I noticed huge differences in the track length reported by Amarok vs. your script, e.g. Amarok (correctly) reports 2:57 for a track while the script reports

length: 01:10:00

No problem for me since I don't need the track length at the moment, just wanted to mention it.

Thanks again,

Hi, I installed Amarok 2.2.2 today and found that SimpleNowPlaying 0.2 now reports Amarok is playing even if it's not. I just start Amarok 2.2.2 and ~/nowPlaying.txt looks like this:

isPlaying: true (should be false)
status: 0
repeatTrack: 0
repeatPlaylist: 0
randomMode: 0
track: 0
length: 00:00
bitrate: 0
samplerate: 0
score: 0
rating: 0
playcounter: 0

I've switched to KDE4 recently and KMyFirewall is one of the last apps requiring KDE3.

Will there ever be a KDE4 version or was development of KMyFirewall stopped?

it seems the latest Portage update to Portage 2.1.2 broke ViewPortageX. After doing an 'emerge --sync' it still shows packages in red instead of green color.

Will there be an update or can I fix the problem locally?

Sorry for the confusion, details are working again. I logged off and on after the update, but they didn't work after that. Maybe changing the theme stopped the details to work. I'll take a look at, however I don't speak python so I hope it's well commented ;-).

Hi... Well, my "problem" with 1.50 is fixed. V1.51 now doesn't display any package details at all...

BTW: I noticed that after every automatic update I have 2 instances of ViewPortageX running. Is this normal?

And finally: where can I find information on how to change a theme/create my own theme? I usually have a dark barkground and none of the included themes will allow me to see the version number (black on black) or the 2 options "Display only installed packages" and "Automatically update ViewPortageX" which are always displayed in black, even when using theme "liquid" where the rest of the configure page uses white fonts.

Thanks for the update, but I don't like the way details about packages are now displayed :(. ViewPortageX was on the right side of my screen, now it pops to the left when viewing the details of a package and hides some icons. Had to move it to the middle of the screen which doesn't look nice.
Can I configure it to show the details below the main panel?

Hi, still have problems with v1.42: I last sync'ed 26 hours ago. ViewPortageX however still shows 8 packages in red, with 1 updated 24 hours ago (so red is ok), the others 30 to 34 hours old. So these should be green, including emacs-21.4-r3 which I updated yesterday and still is red. - Mar 09 2006
Well... thank YOU for a great tool ;-). V1.42 is working fine again.

- Mar 04 2006
Hi, ViewPortageX updated itself yesterday from v1.4 to v1.41. Now it doesn't find any installed packages anymore, eg. it currently says there's a new man-pages-2.24, but it also says "not installed" although I've installed man-pages-2.23 since 2/26.

Well, it did an automatic update to 1.23 today, so at least the check was working. However, after the update it didn't stop checking. So I renamed ViewPortageX.rc and removed all related code. I downloaded ViewPortageX 1.23 again, unpacked it and now it seems to work fine again. The only difference between the old and new ViewPortageX.rc is refreshInterval: old value was 30, now it is 1.

Forgot to say: of course I tried to restart Superkaramba, KDE and my PC. Nothing worked.
- Jan 17 2006
Hi, since the update to v1.22 ViewPortageX is "Checking for Updates..." for ever :(. When switching from "stable" to "testing" it shows the latest packages, switching back to "stable" it just says "Finished reading and displaying packages" and an empty page. I'm using Super-Karamba 0.37_rc2 on Gentoo. ViewPortageX worked fine until 1.21.
