Well, yes, one of the issues that unfortunately comes with this not being upstream: there are some translations missing.

Is there a simple way to translate it? (both "hours" and of course the name of the option in the UI is untranslated here. The hours one surprises me, as I am quite sure that KDE does provide a standard translation for that)

Thanks for your work - Sep 29 2012

Hi,

yes, it appears that it is fixed now, thank you a lot :)

As you know, I'd love to see that in upstream. But as this won't happen, thanks a lot for providing the alternative plasmoid here. I hope you'll manage to keep it up to date with upstream.

Again, thanks for your work.

With KDE 4.9.1 the remaining percentage (not remaining time) is not updated in the popup, it always stays on the same value when discharching.

The value delivered by the underlying data engine is correct, and it works as expected in the original battery plasmoid. It is also updated on a reload of plasma.

Until the developers of KDE decide to bring back this important funcionality in the upstream plasmoid, which will also be looked after and updated along with the rest of KDE, it would be great if you could fix this. Else this plasmoid is unfortunately not helpful.

Poke me if I can provide further information. System is a gentoo x86_64, qt 4.8.3, kde 4.9.1 on a thinkpad t410 with the built-in standard battery.

Icon Tasks

Plasma 4 Extensions by CraigD 642 comments

Hi Craig,

could you please add an option to disable the effect that the window is highlighted when hovering the icon, as the regular task list already provides?

Since the same effect is used for the Alt+Tab Window Switch I would be happy to have it, but disable it for icon task (I don't need it there, I already have the popup preview). Currently I can only disable it in icon task by disabling the whole effect, which also removes it from Alt+Tab.

Thanks a lot, kind regards - Nov 27 2011

Sorry for not looking at the output better, only the removal of the emit line. And, as you might have guessed, it occured again anyway :(

Sorry for the noise. - Oct 14 2011

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=275469#c50 might be worth having a look at. I applied the patch to Icon Tasks 0.7.3 and so far it looks good (but well, since the bug only shows occasionally, it might be just a coincidence up to now) - Oct 14 2011

Hi,

I really like the possibility to have a popup menu again when clicking on grouped windows.

However, unfortunately plasma-desktop crashes whenever I close a grouped window with this option activated.

KDE is 4.7.1, unfortunately it doesn't give me a backtrace. Any idea on this?

Thanks in advance - Oct 03 2011
Hello Craig,

unfortunately qtcurve 1.4.0 triggers a bug here, either in qtcurve or in the nvidia drivers. After (re)loading the theme (window deco and contents) I get a

NVRM: Xid (0001:00): 13, 0004 00000000 00008297 00001458 00000006 00000040
NVRM: Xid (0001:00): 13, 0003 00000000 00008297 00001514 00000000 00000040

which usually means that the nvidia GPU got a wrong command or other kind of corruption.

My screen then soon looks like

http://www.fuchsnet.ch/stack/qtcurve14.png

This might be in the nvidia driver as well, but so far this only happens with qtcurve 1.4.0 and it is reproducible with qtcurve 1.4.0. I update to 1.4.0 and reload the theme: Xid error and screen garbeled. I downgrade to 1.3 and reboot: problem gone.

Any idea what might happen here, and are there, by chance, other users affected?

System is Gentoo Linux on a amd64, nvidia driver is the latest version on xorg 1.8.0, qt is 4.6.2, kde is 4.4.3 with compositing activated.

Kind regards,

This is already possible by using a modifier. In KDE this is usually Alt. With Alt+Mouse1 you can grab and drag the window anywhere you want to, independent of the style.
