Hi and thanks,
As far as the customizations, since the widgets are in fact images, you would need to change the colors by importing the graphics into photoshop/gimp and then change the colors, you will have to do this for gtk2 and gtk3 theme. Font colors can be changed by editing gtk-3.0/gtk.css and gtk-2.0/gtkrc. - Feb 09 2015

Hi mate,
I use photoshop for graphic. Unfortunately i dont have a PSD file. You can take the graphic transform to gray, create a new layer on top of the gray one, add some color and set that layer to overlay/linear dodge/linear color or what ever you think is best. Or just change the graphics.

Hey mate,
Thanks for the kind words.
As of the light theme, I had in mind something like that, but I dont like light theme so I gave up in the start. These 2 I use at work and at home and thats the only reason I update them. To be honest I would gladly make light version but I just dont have time... but things can change.

Ah, no, When you download the zip extract it and copy DarkCold4 dir to the /usr/share/themes by opening terminal and enter
gksu nautilus
enter password navigate to the /usr/share/themes and drag DarkCold4 dir in it.
now select the GTK+ Theme not Shell as your print screen shows.
kdeglobals save to /home/YOUR-USERNAME/.kde/share/config
Possible issues with metacity theme (border around the window[title bar, close button...]) may not change, I have this problem with Mint 12 Gnome and Cinnamon, no problem with MATE. - Jan 08 2012

- Jan 07 2012
extract the theme to /usr/share/theme, go to Advanced Settings or type in terminal gnome-tweak-tool, select Theme and change GTK+ Theme to DarkCold
- Jan 06 2012
My next DE on PC at work has to be xfce, so I guess I will address those issues for sure.

- Dec 11 2011
Same here, metacity-theme-3.xml has nothing to do with my theme. I copied it over from Mint-X and my theme started working.... if you figure out why is that, please let me know :)
- Jul 06 2018
Try it now, download from github.

- Jan 21 2015
I am sorry, I did not update the instructions.
Just unpack the zip to your /usr/share/themes
when you unpack it there you should have darkcold-master dir.
To set up the theme you will need "Tweak Tool". - Jan 21 2015

Hi,
it's called the caret.
I dont really know and at the moment I cannot try it, but try adding this to the rc file in DarkMint/gtk-2.0 theme
style "green-cursor" {
GtkTextView::cursor-color = "green"
}
class "GtkWidget" style "green-cursor" - Sep 02 2012

I read in comments that blur is possible, how can this be achieved, my theme is vtunner (type).
Can it be added in theme.ini since i see that blur is part of compiz and no option for setting in emerald theme. - Dec 12 2011
