To install the backgrounds "extract" the downloaded Tar.gz -File
into the background-directory of Kooldock.
( /usr/share/apps/kooldock/backgrounds/ or /opt/kde3/share/apps/kooldock/backgrounds/ )
In Kooldock-Settings choose as background the new background.
To install a new icon in Kooldock, Just edit an application (Right-Click on the Icon)
Click on the Icon-Symbol and You find a dialogue to choose another icon. Choose
one out of the extracted Icon's directory.

Strange! Go into settings, select another "Output-plugin" and restart XMMS.
If it doesn't helps, install "audacious" - that's the same like xmms.
And -----
don't forget to install the VU-meter, it's magic !!!

Hello David,

Thank You for good comment on XAIRON-COMPIZ !!!
It seems You are a little bit "FAN-atic" in the moment. I have the
greatest respect on code2's work. He makes not only style, he is the style!

But You can't go around to all black-styled themes and say, that it is
a worse version of code2's excellent work. I would never tell You, that
You have made a worse COPY of the Kore-Theme (Look at the corners of KOREMIN).

So please respect not only code2's work, respect also others work !!!

Hi,
The dock on the screenshot You see is Avant-Window-Navigator AWN (code.google.com/p/avant-window-navigator).
There are a lot of docks available for linux; AWN, Kooldock, Ksmoothdock, Kiba-Dock, kxdocker and so on....
But it depends on Your system, what dock You can use!! My favorite docks are AWN and Kooldock, You can find themes for them
on Gnome-Look and KDE-Look.
To get the panel away, I put it on the top
of the screen and switch it in settings on autohide.

I'd must be blind, being on Gnome-Look and KDE-Look for over a year and never having seen RWMS.
I tried to see my theme with Your eyes and You have right too.
One can see it as simple conglomeration of OSX-Look, Windows-Look. RMWS-Style, Porsche-Design and Gnome-touch.

Maybe it's only me seeing it having something own but for my taste it yet looks so....

RMWS is based on "trueglass", Xairon on "pixmaps"-engine.
Xairon-Compiz has the new idea of combining glass and non-glass effects.
The adjustable titlebar allows KDE-Users to get the same feeling as Gnome-Users have.

Hi Sergio,

Do You use Kooldock or AWN ?
If it's AWN, first install the actual version ( AWN 0.2.1 ).
AWN is sometimes not reacting correctly on changing themes ! Then You need to restart
AWN and change special setting manually.

I had sometimes the same crashes with older versions of kooldock.
The new version 0.4.7 is very stable and works with my personal
settings without problems. When You have installed the newest version
and the problem is not solved, it might be a new function in Kooldock,
as for example KBFX-Support, causes the crashes on Your system.
I'll publish my settings upside, You can overtake them.
If Your Kooldock doesn't appear anymore, You can start it with:

kooldock -o

You come directly in the Settings-Main-Window, and You can correct wrong
settings. Later You can change the settings again, to increase the function,
which causes the problem and we can tell it to the developper of Kooldock.

On Ubuntu You can install it with following commands:

make
sudo make install

It's difficult to find out, what goes wrong in Your case. It' seems that the Plugin
finds no Skins. Check whether You have made the directory:
" /home/~/.xmms/VU_Meter_skins/ "
and copy the VUmeter-Skins of the Plugin into that directory.
Check if the directory and the Files are readable for all users.

When the problem exists further, I suggest to check whether You
have installed the actual XMMS-Player (1.2.10) or the actual VUmeter-Plugin (0.9.2)
Go again step by step through my Installation-guidance for the plugin on

XMMS Skins by ottlux 29 comments

The Skin`s are for the "Analog VUmeter-plugin" of XMMS.
You must differentiate between Player-Skin and VUmeter-Skin.
To use other Player-Skins, put them into the skin directory of XMMS.
To use VUmeter-Skins You have first to install or to compile the
"Analog VUmeter-plugin" and to extract the VUmeter-Skins in the VU_Meter_skins directory.

Try first some Player-Skins and activate them with ALT-S in XMMS. When You like the
XMMS-Player and You want to have the additonal VUmeter-plugin, compile it.
Go step by step through my Installation-guidance for the plugin and have also a look
