True transparency for Konsole

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by TheNacho 41 comments

Sorry, but this has nothing to do with the patch you can download here. Making Windows transparent in Beryl, makes the whole window including menus and decoration transparent. Here just the Konsole-Textframe gets transparency. IMHO a cool effect, which is ATM supported only by urxvt (Nice little xterm-replacement). - Nov 06 2006

At my computer KXDocker does not recognize Compiz and uses fake transparency. Can I force KXDocker to use compiz and real transparency?

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by atomicsmith 23 comments

There are many elements in KDE that were copied from Windows and Mac OS X.
And this mockup looks exactly like Apple Macs.
OK. Alt+Tab is ugly, but try to find something better/different. If this will become KDE4 I'm going to buy me a Mac... - Dec 02 2005

Kaffeine Player

Video Apps by juergenk 179 comments

I just wanted to say, that I liked Kaffeine very much, but in the last two weeks I got a bit angry.
Three DVD-records I started stopped without any notification. Kaffeine did not crash or anything, it just stopped...
So in my opinion the advertised harddisk-recording function is absolutely useless! :-(

Program Control Center (KDE)

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by nookie 60 comments

First of all, this programm doesn't fit anyway into KDE look'n'feel.
And then I think it's not KDE's task to replace the distribution specific tools like YaST (this looks VERY similiar to YaST), Portage, APT and so on.
If you something like this, use SuSE or if want it in a cleaner way take Debian or Gentoo (There are GUIs for APT or Portage.) - May 30 2005

I just wanted to say, that I love this KDM-Theme. That's the only one, that really looks different...

P.S.: Does anyone know if there is a possibility of getting the old Wipeout 2097 to work on Linux? (Playstation or Win-Emulation or Linux-native (there was a project by Hyperion Software some years ago I think...) is equal if it's fast enough!) - Apr 03 2005

Another suggestion would be sound.
I saw a program for Windows which had a "prayer-alarm" with the call of a real muezzin.
That was very cute. :-)

P.S.: I reread my original post, and wanted to add that even I don't need the program it wasn't the reason I didn't like it. (Just design-questions)

Why did you have to start your own project?
Now there is a dock with autohide but without the new features of Smoothdock 3.2, because your project is a fork of 2.1...

GTK-QT Theme Engine

GTK1 Themes by davidsansome 280 comments

I'm using SuSE 9.0 with KDE 3.2 and compiled and installed the source package. After creating the gtkrc-2.0-file it didn't change the look of Gimp or any other GTK-app.
Then I tried it with some RPMs for SuSE I found in the net. With one RPM that directly installed the theme into /opt/gnome/themes I could change the theme in gnome-theme-manager to QT-Style but that had no effect on Gimp or XMMS... (Also creating an gtkrc-2.0 which included the "opt"-Path didn't help)
Does anyone habe an idea? :-( - Mar 08 2004
