yes. windows has GOOD design. its intuitive, clean, colorful but not ugly. does unix-systems need to suck in art just to avoid being too "windowish?".

in general unixes are mac-alike. mac os x IS unix. what about that?

the point in those screenshots really wasnt to tell "THIS is how kdm should look", but the login manager as whole, like in gdm, you can change theme! point was kdm is not that themeable and easy to add other themes than that square box with different style and background - Nov 24 2003

In _MY_ opinion, it would be better with fully gray gradiented background. Of course, it's just _my_ opinion ;)
