GTK3/4 Themes by originalseed 79 comments

Finally, I can run xfce -and- Evolution (gtk3) with a consistent and beautiful theme.

Thank you. - Nov 11 2012

I know this theme is pretty old, but it's still my favorite.

Any chance of getting it updated to Gtk3? Evolution is butt-ugly. - Nov 09 2012

Adding this widget to the KDE panel, the icon and text has always been tiny. I have to mouse over it to read anything. It's been like this forever. Why only me?

Got the web page thing fixed now too. Just two adjustments in kcontrol|Appearance|Color: Standard Background #333333, and Window Background #111111.

What a beautiful Style! - Jun 08 2008

You've done something wrong then, "Level2Tech". It is completely stable on Hardy, AND it's changed all the font colors and other aspects to make a complete and excellent style.

But the catch is, you've got to have a stable distro to begin with, and you've got to follow thibaut28's instructions, installing the four facets.

Only a few adjustments were needed as I've detailed above. Only issue for me is that web pages that do not specify background color are all black. I can't find a way to fix this. - Jun 06 2008

OK, I find there are adjustments for just about everything, in Domino|Configure. Checkmarks & radios are now brighter, scrollbar groove is visible, and konqifm background is light. What a beautiful style!

Gee, if I have to rebuild how will I get this all back?

Only thing left is that the active tab in Konqi does not stand out. The active tab is perfect in kcontrol, but in Konq it looks just the same as the others.

Any way to address this? - Jun 05 2008

I am completely digging the Revelation Suite. It is just what I was looking for, and I have all the components and settings as recommended.

I think that the frames, panel, etc should not distract from the work at hand, and so this understated elegant look is just the thing. Pretty radical... black for black is blacker-than-black, tho the shiny buttons really look great!

Of course I had to adjust KonqiFM's background color, and that of OpenOffice. A bit hard to see items checkmarked, and I expect I'll have to adjust the background of KonqiBrowser, but text and controls are very clear and otherwise this looks like just the thing.

Major Props to thibaut28, and thanks! - Jun 05 2008

Apparently some don't like my editorial comment about Mandrake & Suse. Fair enough.

But I'd used these distros for 5 and 2 years respectively, and maybe I'm just a demanding user, but the fact is I spent 30% of my time simply troubleshooting these two. More busted, than not.

I'm just saying my truth peoples. - Jul 17 2004

Baghira is a complete style for KDE. It changes the whole look to an aqua (liquid) look, like Apple used to be. Any KDE app will likewise be skinned automatically. No muss, no fuss.

But beware of some versions; in Gentoo, the only one that works so far is the 0.3p ebuild. (Check bugs.gentoo.org) I'd attach it, if this board'd let me. - Jul 17 2004

Er, you will prefer less transparency, like 90 or so. :j - Jul 17 2004

Thank you Vdboor, you are very kind.

Yes, today I discovered that the version number is not simply arbitrary. So I've corrected all .cfg's and rebuilt all initrd's. Apologies for any inconvenience, etc.

For the text box overlay, you'd like to adjust its transparency. In the .cfg file at (i.e. bootsplash-1280x1024.cfg):
box noover 20 20 1260 900 #04044550
you will adjust the last two digits (50) to a lower number for more transparency. (giving more brilliant chrome) To adjust the color of the overlay box, adjust the 040445 portion to your preferred (hex) values. - Jul 17 2004
