Very nice wallpaper but why so moralizing?
You could add a second to the package where you change the "???" to "!!!" and let people decide for themselves.
Then again, "no drugs, no fun!!!" is a bit over the top. :) - Jun 04 2004

Great background but I think your shadow is off. On the left side of the trashcan you can see part of the shadow of the trashcan. This isn't physicaly possible. That part of the shadow should be behind the trashcan, not on it.
Good job though.. - May 30 2004

I get a lot of errors, I tried buth KDE en NVIDA logo, and I tried also the version for mandrake, ...
(I use SuSE 9.x)
Compile gives me no errors. Make does. A lot of errors. (4 screenfulls)
I'll paste only the first part since I don't want to clutter this forum.

Your message on the other hand...
In the male-internet world we live in I often get confronted with images that are often very offensive and rude. They DO treat women like objects. As a man it's hard to notice this because you are not personally involved. You just don't notice so you think it's not there.
But what you are saying is that being offended by this means that you must be big, fat and ugly. The only reason why we are offended - in your opinion - is because we think we don't look "as good". So, at that point you just confirmed what she just said. It's just another way of saying "shut up and be beautifull".
I do think the original poster overreacts, but I can understand how she feels. After a while you had enough, and at that point it doesn't take much to explode..
Maybe I've just gotten used to it. And that's a very depressing thought. - May 11 2004

It would be useless to do this with all directories but just the root-directories and some special directories (like with fonts) would be great.
I think it will enhance readability with newbies and experienced users alike.
Good job! - May 09 2004

If it is like in the screenshot it's very confusing. Icons should enhance the clarity and the overview of the content, not complicate it.
Maybe you should take the same approach as they do with the mime-type icons. Create a standard folder-icon and map a smaller image on it that displays the content? - Apr 29 2004

And NOW i notice there is a typo in the pic. It says "dedicataion" instead of "dedication".

I know you made this in dedication of a friend so I'll understand if you refuse, but it would be nice if you added a background where you put "Linux" instead of "Vern"? - Apr 26 2004

This splash would be very cool if you would light up different parts of the brain as the components load. Instead of the normal bottom bar. - Apr 26 2004
