Does this use real transparency with xgl/compiz? If not, is it planned? - Jun 30 2006
Amarok Video Player

Amarok 1.x Scripts by Bono 6 comments

I sent a request to the Amarok developers for this kind of support a while back. They agreed to allow Amarok to support video file transfers to iPod but didn't agree that video support should be included. I will be trying out this script. - Jun 25 2006

I think it was a suse 10 package. I'm compiling from source now and I get the following error: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE
If this token and others are legitimate, please use m4_pattern_allow.
See the Autoconf documentation. error: possibly undefined macro: AM_CONFIG_HEADER error: possibly undefined macro: AC_CHECK_COMPILERS error: possibly undefined macro: AC_ENABLE_SHARED error: possibly undefined macro: AC_ENABLE_STATIC error: possibly undefined macro: AM_KDE_WITH_NLS error: possibly undefined macro: AC_PATH_KDE error: possibly undefined macro: AC_CHECK_KDEMAXPATHLEN

Kima - kicker monitoring applet

I get an error when I try to add this to the kicker stating:

"The CPU Info Applet could not be loaded. Please check the installation."

I have an intel core duo t2300 processor, maybe this is the problem? Any suggestions? - May 16 2006
Umbrello UML Modeller

P.S. StarUML is for the Windows platform. Still, Umbrello doesn't feel complete enough. - Mar 26 2006
Umbrello UML Modeller

Developers Apps by jriddell 28 comments

I have always been a great follower of Umbrello, however I feel as though development is just too slow, and that the application is just not coming together as nicely as it could to the point where it is no longer my primary UML tool.

I wanted to inform people of a fantastic open source application called StarUML. I have been using it for a couple of weeks now, and although the interface does take a little getting used to, it has so many great features that once you know how to use it, productivity is great. I would love to see some of the features in staruml ported over to umbrello.

What do you think? - Mar 26 2006

When a users name contains a J the bottom curl is hidden, making it look like an I. This may be true for other letters as well. - Mar 08 2006

I am learning Spanish and French, and this would be the perfect thing for studying vocabulary. Any plans to make it into a generic application? - Mar 07 2006
Contacts applet for Kicker

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by kossebau 39 comments

I miss the birthday reminder feature of kickpim....still, not sure if this is the right place for it.

Great app overall, just think the list sorting needs to be better. Maybe this should be customisable? In amarok you can change the way your music is listed in the Collection viewer, for example. I would prefer my contacts to be listed by first name, but maybe some people like surname or maybe even category? Also, how about have the items for each contact display different info, much like you can change what the contacts display in the kopete list :)

Keep up the great work...I can't stop using it at the moment! :) - Jan 30 2006
Dark sweetsys

Various KDE 1.-4. Styles by MMax 3 comments

Two points. Firstly, I couldn't get it to work, and second, any chance you could just provide the colour scheme on it's own?

Looks good though. I have yet to find a dark scheme that works. I'm so tired of MS Grey. - Jan 16 2006

KDE 3.0-3.4 Themes by odinriko 6 comments

Hey I love the theme, but how did u manage to get your terminal to hang down from the top of the screen like that? It reminds me of the half-life console. It would be really handy if I could just press a key and have the terminal pop down, then press the key again and have it pop back up. :O) - Dec 19 2003
