But this doesn't do the configuration. Its really just a little thing to help avoid needing the command line to run it. I've considered making it so it helps with the config, but I don't understand synergy's config process very well. - Aug 22 2006

Graphic Apps by sweinst 11 comments
I'm not familiar with it, but that may be a way to get around the conversion... or maybe just make a library that kde can use. This can make it so other apps can possibly use wbz images. - Aug 01 2006
it might be nice to have a mode where it pops up smaller thumbnails around the cursor and didn't hide all the windows. this might help improve performance a little but more importantly would be pretty cool. (these icons would have to be only for the current desktop since i'm thinking this would be useful as a taskbar replacement). - May 18 2006

I modified it to it has a min of 2 seconds and it seems to work fine.
I think I'm also going to have to modify it so its a little bit smaller. It takes up too much room on my screen...
But nice app otherwise :) I've been looking for something like this to help me monitor my turion's speed/temp as it quickly gets hot when it runs at full speed. - Jan 19 2006

When I tried to compile it myself, I again had 0.1 (First source link doesn't say version number on it). Then I downloaded the newer source. Its much better now and the application is less cluttered.
One little thing that bothers me now is that the output directory text box is cleared after finishing a job. I was converting a folder of ogg to mp3 (my car radio can only play mp3) and a few times I messed up where the second job started saving to the wrong root.
For the "Copy directory structure" it would be nice if we can tell it from where to start the directory structure. To avoid having folders like: /home/user/music2/home/user/music. This problem is very minor and I can't figure out a simple non-confusing way to prompt for this. - Jan 03 2006

ogg, mp3, mpc, flac, ape, wma
I have the following backends installed:
oggenc, oggdec, flac, lame, mplayer, ffmpeg
Great program, but I see a few flaws with the gui design. It took me a while to realize that there was a help button (should probably be in a menu). You can also move the settings and priority options to there too.
The add files/dir can be a toolbar and menu.
The invert/remove selected buttons out of place, they look like they would act on the textbox to the left of them, but in fact they act upon the list above them. Maybe a context menu (and normal menu) can be useful here.
The "Output directory" might be better off if it was under the file list. This way it would give a better indication of both the workflow and also to show that the output directory would be applied to the entire list, instead of just the files added. (I was added files from different directories and wasn't sure if the output directory was per add or for the entire list.
I feel that these things can make the interface a bit simpler. - Dec 30 2005
Such a feature would also be useful for people who are copying some expression from some other source. Most (probably all) other calculators force you to retype it-- scratch that, re-click it. Your application _is_ a little better than most because it lets you see the full expression whereas other applications mimic the single 10 digit display for both answer and input.
Anyway, a text input field would be cool because then if the user messed up, there could be an "up/down" history like on the terminal that would allow him/her to edit the mistake.
I don't see how it will be hard to implement since with the current mouse input its still possible to have invalid input: try using the custom function with multiple parameters, its pretty hard to use. With a text input, I could have typed "a + test(1, 3, 4)" and gotten my answer in about 3 seconds. Mouse input took me 45 seconds, and never figured out how to set the second/third parameters.
But other than that, this application seems very good. I voted "good" for it. - Jun 29 2005

I'm actually thinking about making a program that would use kimdaba's database from a 10 foot UI so that I can control a slideshow from a remote control. If that goes well, maybe I'll try to do it for other media applications. - Jun 28 2005

Can you maybe also have various colors? Darker colors are usually better IMO for wallpapers just because they are easier on the eyes. - Oct 08 2004

Under System Administration I have "Boot Manager", "Linux Kernel", "Login Manager", "Sony Vaio Laptop...", etc. These are things that aren't used that often (if ever) by some people. - May 08 2004

/home/mdeanda/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/
You might want to add something like:
mkdir -p ~/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/
just before copying the file to avoid this error.
An impatient user would quickly give up. I think its otherwise a great little script. - May 08 2004

I can imagine tabs on the bottom/top of the conversation window and the conversation window most likely at the bottom. Hmm... maybe if you can pull a tab outside of Universal Kopete so only some are tabbed. It seems like a lot of work. I wish I knew how to use KDevelop. I get a bunch of errors, but I'd try help.
I haven't used it yet, but I'm waiting for 3.2 to finish downloading so that I can try it. I just installed Kopete after using gaim for a while (I got tired of Yahoo not working) and I find Kopete to be very nice. I'll have to give it more time, but so far it looks good. - Mar 11 2004
