hey i am not religious, but i think it is REALLY good to see some religious non-christian art here! at least it nicer than most of the christian stuff. i really think though that kde-look should make their own religions-section, just to make sure that if you dont want suff like that, it doesnt block the newest-10-list. ;-)
anyway nobody forces noone to look at this, so stop complaining, people! - Oct 26 2003

KDE 3.x Splash Screens by orzetto 19 comments

i just wanted to say that i DO like political art on this page. and all you un-educated americans (i am NOT anti-american, just anti-iamthegreatest-americans), if you can't cope with a splash screen that contains information that you might actually have THINK about than why dont you just get your self a we-are-the-greatest-splashscreen and enjoy your illusions.
i am not a communist, neither am i racist (i am not even italian), i just want people to think critically about whats going on. i really want to emphasize that i have many american friends and that this post is not about races.
it just annoys me greatly that there are people who believe themselves to be better than others and that come to this site - a linux site (which, maybe you havent realized, is based on an anti-capitalistic system) - to deny people their right of freedom of expression because what they say doesnt suit them. kinda like in your oh-so-democratic-chosen-by-god-nation.
i hope you find comfort in the blindness and the illusions YOUR propaganda spreads. - Oct 15 2003

i like the theme too except that i also see no icons and middle clicking doesnt add any. also i have a 'split' between the middle bar and system bar. meesing around with
image x=1000 y=0 path="pics/vright.png"
image x=1200 y=0 path="pics/right.png"
-values only screws it up more.

wow thanks for your quick reply.
the xmule homepage is www.xmule.org ,but donwloads and srcs are at www.sourceforge.net (just punch in 'xmule' in the search box and click on first result). xmule is a emule port however.
a really interesting project is xmule v2 (on the search results page for xmule) its not (only) a port of emule and looks really good; its not ready yet, when it is though it would be just awesome if you made a plugin for it!!plz..plz ;-)

it would be cool to see some religious non-christian art too though.(nothing against you, i am atheist, but i really would like to see some chrome-buddha on some flashy backgrounds.......probabaly your the wrong one to tell.....)

i like it too, but it is VERY like windows. it is ez to use though and looks nice(which is most important).
it really is nice but the following additions would make it even better i think:
-startbutton being "pushed" in when pressed
- a systray
-different window button for active window and background windows(i.e. active one pushed in (like all now), other not?)

keep up good work! - Jul 25 2003

it saddens me to see that the open source/linux community is conservative and ignorant. i always thought being open minded was a condition of belonging to the linux community. and to all you people holding up the red scare: have you ever thought of the concept of open source? it means thousands of people working together to reach a common goal, and sharing the results and experience with others for free.
i am not a communist but the system you are living in right now has opposite values than the open source community.
