I'm still having the same problems with the new version you've uploaded... It's a pity for a must for me :(
If I guess something I'll say something here... - Mar 07 2013
It was happening to me as well --on KDE 4.10 also--, but I do not know if it only happens when the list of rss feeds is (too) long. I configured it with list of more than 20 rss feeds or so, to be updated every 10 minutes and it was giving problems, even producing a lot of CPU load (close to 99%) and slowing the whole machine.
Anyway, this plasmoid is terribly nice -- almost essential for me.

Hi,

I really like this style. It's terribly nice. But I'm afraid that for using it with an application in particular, with 'gwave' I have to switch to another style.

I'm having this problem with KDE 4.4.1 in a Ubuntu AMD64 system. 'gwave' is a graphics program for plotting curves (the results from the simulation of electronic circuits). The problem happens because 'gwave' has a black background and when plotting the curve this is also black, so you can't see anything. If another style is used you can see the curve with another color.

I just leave this here so it could help to check that only minor "problem" of this wonderful style.

Greetings, and lots of thanks for your nice work.

I'm almost sure you would be interested in having a look at this: http://www.nongnu.org/mailnotify/ It is in Debian as the mail-notification package. The problem I have found is that it does not recognise the way that kmail tags mails in the maildir format. If it could, it were just perfect for me. - Dec 21 2007

In my Kubuntu x86_64 machine with KDE 3.5.1, even compiling it by myself, it does not present any clockface at all. Any help would be certainly grateful. - Apr 19 2006

I think I managed to find something that seems to be created for compatibility for with python 2.4 in python 2.3. It's a subprocess modules in python 2.3. With this (what I wouldn't trust too much either) here yoy have what it gives me back:

Call to meterClicked failed
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/home/bautista/tmp/x/aero_aio.skz/aero_aio.py", line 724, in meterClicked
File "/home/bautista/tmp/x/aero_aio.skz/aero_aio.py", line 292, in loadPage
File "", line 0, in ?
File "/home/bautista/.aero_aio/kmail_aio.py", line 417, in __init__
self.dc = KApplication.kApplication().dcopClient()
AttributeError: dcopClient
Call to widgetUpdated failed

File "/home/bautista/tmp/x/aero_aio.skz/aero_aio.py", line 577, in widgetUpdated
AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'update'

...

And that is repeated forever. Aero AIO is loaded fine, but this happens when clicking on the kmail icon. And nonthing appears on the Aero AIO canvas from then on.

Fine... it seems my problems are due to be using Python 2.3 instead of 2.4. Let us see if I can solve it, although I have my doubts :( - Dec 21 2005
Hi, Kovid,

It seems that the problem is that the "subprocess" Python module is unknown on my system:

-------------------------
File "/home/user/.aero_aio/kmail_aio.py", line 1, in ?
import karamba, os, re, time, math, traceback, subprocess, sets, imaplib
ImportError: No module named subprocess
------------------------------------------------------
What does ImportError mean?

It means that I couldn't load a python add-on aero_aio.py
If this is a regular theme and doesn't use python
extensions, then nothing is wrong.

---------------

I will try to look in a search machine how to have this module in my Debian Python configuration, but if anyone could know something...

BTW, another (very sublte) thing is that when trying to install your plugin from inside the Aero AIO configuration window in a fresh superkaramba user directory, it does not allow to load it because:

File "/home/user/.superkaramba/Aero-AIO-0.8e/scripts/config_dialog.py", line 801, in buttonAddClicked
os.mkdir(newdir)
OSError: [Errno 2] File or directory does not exist '/home/user/.aero_aio/sounds/kmail/'

Just by creating it by hand has solved the problem.

Greetings,

Tomás. - Dec 21 2005
Hi!

I'm wishing to use your plugin, but I've got some problems. First, I put the files in a directory under /usr/local which normal users could not modify and that made to appear an error saying something concerning a "displayPath" function, as has been reported by someone else in this forum. This is solved just by installing the plugin (and of course the Aero AIO theme as well) under $HOME/.superkaramba.

But now, after I have managed to load the plugin and configure it inside Aero AIO, when I click on the kmail icon nothing at all is displayed and although I click on the other icons this situation remains. Moreover, the following error is produced:

Call to widgetUpdated failed

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/home/blablabla/.superkaramba/themes/Aero-AIO-0.8e/aero_aio.py", line 577, in widgetUpdated

page.update(widget)

AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'update'

BTW, I have a Debian sid machine, with PyQT and PyKDE and so on.

Any hints would be greatfully welcome.

Greetings,

Tomás.

Hi,

I wished to use this piecs of jewel but without success. I presumed it was a problem with my PyQT installation, but the fact is that I have no idea of what it is really happening. I'm using KDE 3.5 on a Debian sid with:

python2.3-qt3 3.15-4 Qt3 bindings for Python 2.3

pyqt-tools 3.15-4 pyuic and pylupdate for Qt3

I don't know if these are the needed ones or other ones are also required, but the issue is that it does not allow me to configure anything, and when trying to load the kmail plugin (and now I don't really know if when not too) usually gives this error on the terminal:

arguments do not match

No such application: 'displayPath'

Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

Greetings. - Dec 08 2005

Install the bzlib development library. You can see what it is really happening looking into the config.log file... and if it happens to you the same as with me, the problem is due to the fact that it does not find a file called bzlib.h (or similar).

If you use Debian, the package you should install is libbz2-dev.

Hope this helps,
