Very nice. You may want to consider just keeping the logo on the red background of the fist instead of creating the black space for it though. Just a thought. Great job, though! - May 13 2009

How would I drop down a running instance of Yakuake with a specified command, in this case emacs? I want to use this to specify my default text editor. With Konsole, I can call "konsole -e emacs", but Yakuake doesn't seem to support the -e option. - May 12 2008

I don't like the way the set publish date dialog is set in relation to the rest of the window, it's not at all clear what the relationship is between it and the publish checkbox. I think what you mean there is "if this box isn't checked, save it as a local draft, if it is, publish on the "set publish date," but it's very hard to parse, especially since westerners read left-to-right, so the set publish date dialog is the first thing you see. Maybe instead of having it under the composition pane, have it "slide in" under the publish checkbox when it is checked? Just a thought...

If you're interested, I did a quick-and-dirty review of KBlogger 1.0 alpha on my blog: http://guerrillatech.wordpress.com/2008/02/08/a-ten-minute-tour-of-kblogger-10-alpha/

I really like the interface, although I did run into some issues, and I look forward to seeing this project progress. Good work!

Compiled without a hitch on Kubuntu 7.10. Having some problems, though. I can change the background colors (neat, btw!), I can drag in photos, I can caption photos and insert the title, but I can't resize or rotate photos (with the green and red buttons). Unfortunately, when running fotowall from the terminal, there is no debug output for me to give you! I'd like to help in whatever way I can, but you might have to hold my hand through it :)

i-cons

Karamba & Superkaramba by Ricardo 16 comments

Yeah, I'm poking this sucker with sticks. Take it as a compliment; if this wasn't such a cool theme, I wouldn't be bothering.

Okay, in i-cons-disk-home.py, when you go to 3/4 size, you reused the code from i-cons-disk, so it displays mount and unmount. I changed this, so now it displays the icons and options that the full-size widget does. It's easy once you're looking at the code, it's lines 170 - 192.

Next problem: I'm unable to use the config to update the partition label or iconset. When I try to update the partition label, I get this:

"Call to commandOutput failed
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/home/teeahr1/sourcefiles-etc/superk/i-cons_0.5-release/i-cons-disk-home.py", line 265, in commandOutput

Attempting to change the iconset seems to fail silently. Please advise.

In the i-cons-disk-home theme, clicking on the home icon brings up an empty Konqueror session, because it's calling text4, which is "". I don't know if this was deliberate or not, but I changed line 110 to:
karamba.createClickArea(widget, 285, 0, 160, 33,("konqueror ~"))

to open the user's home folder. - Nov 10 2007

Like it a lot, it's replaced Aero AIO on my desktop. A thought -

Automatic image resizing would be great. The icon set I'm using doesn't have some of the icons in 32x32, which is the path the theme looks in for the small icons, and it doesn't include 96x96 icons at all. Obviously, resizing the png files myself and creating the directory was a minor matter, but if I hadn't have gone code diving I wouldn't have known.

Thanks again, and keep up the great work! - Nov 10 2007

1. I don't have a config dialog. The "i" in the corner is grayed out. Are there depends that I'm not meeting? It'd be nice if there was at least a README.

2. The bottom of contact names are cut off by the next field.

Here's my terminal output:
"sys.path.insert(0, '/home/teeahr1/sourcefiles-etc/superk/62064-kabsa-0.0.3.skz')

I'll jump in with a feature request too, I guess. I'd like it if things were clickable; for instance, clicking on a partition graph could open Konqueror there, clicking on the memory/CPU display could open Ksysguard, etc. I have no idea how difficult this would be to implement, but it's a thought.

Great work on this! Thanks a ton! - Nov 07 2007

It means that I couldn't load a python add-on guru.py
