I think this could be made into a general statement about all Linux distros. It's just happened that Ubuntu is the one receiving the most attention at this point in time. I remember a plethora of crap LOL GENTOO branded wallpapers on this site back when that was the hot popular distro.
This site really needs more content that is truly open-source/linux/GNOME oriented. At this point, any moron could just hop on deviant art, download a cool looking wallpaper, and plop a $DISTRO logo on it and have no need for this site.
As a side note, your insults towards the Ubuntu community specifically in your "changelog" are completely uncalled for. Every distro has suffered the problems mentioned at one point (probably with the exception of some of the more mature noncommercial ones like Debian and Slackware, but I could be wrong, since I was not involved in open source at their inception. - Jul 01 2006

Actually, in my ~/Pictures/Wallpapers folder, I have two subcategories to deal with this... "Distro-specific" and "General Linux." I think this site should do something similar, except perhaps retaining the "GNOME" wallpaper classification like it currently has. - Apr 04 2006

As a sidenote, I think something should be done so that people don't get caught by this stuff unawares. This should be a work/school/family-friendly site. Perhaps make it an account option to show adult images? - Mar 01 2006

It's application iconset is fairly complete, and the default GNOME icons look "good enough" alongside the Still Life ones that any gaps aren't a big deal.
You may want to fill in the holes presented by the new OpenDocument/Oasis formats with just symlinks to the old OpenOffice format type icons, as I have. Adding in icons for audio file and video file formats would be nice as well, even if they are generic to start with. - Feb 04 2006
