Hi there...
Thanks for your appreciation and more for all the suggestions. As I said earlier I am almost a newbie at Blender so I could not totally make sense of some of your tips. Even then I've tried to smooth out the lamp and the globe. I guess its not the mapping type but the globe-image which is the trouble there. No matter what I do it doesn't come out right. Apart from that I now have a simple Bevel effect for the text. (It now looks carved out of the wood :) ) The newspaper wont budge but I guess its ok. I hope its better than it was before. - Apr 25 2004

Seems to be OK at my end. Well its not such a big deal actually. Just create a text file called "Set as Wallpaper.desktop" in your $HOME/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus and add the following lines to it.

[Desktop Entry]
ServiceTypes=image/*
Actions=Background;tile

[Desktop Action Background]
Name=Set Wallpaper
Icon=thumbnail
Exec=dcop kdesktop KBackgroundIface setWallpaper %f 1

[Desktop Action tile]
Name=Set as Tiled Wallpaper
Icon=thumbnail
Exec=dcop kdesktop KBackgroundIface setWallpaper %f 2
