It is ubuntu based system . This system have other directory postion . I tested it in ubuntu and i had to do some changes in this theme . But still not working . Sorry i can't help you . I am not ubuntu user ...
This install steps are for distributions like Fedora, Mandriva, Mageia etc... In this distributions it is very easy to change plymouth theme. - Sep 06 2015
